Spectacular views from this home necessitated that the landscape design complement the setting.  As such, trees were used sparingly.  A specimen native fir tree, along with interesting logs that were salvaged from the previous house, anchors the motor court.  A daylight lower level along with the natural sloping site, offered a great opportunity for a spectacular rocky natural water feature which also diffuses highway noise.  A small pond at the bottom provides a place for the grandchildren to splash and play.  A second water feature behind the house provides a tranquil spot for relaxation and contemplation.  The two water features work together to provide the illusion that one passes over a creek when walking through the breezeway to the master wing.  An old iron bowl was re-purposed as a fire pit.   The use of both pavers and flagstone provides interest and definition to the different outdoor rooms.  Landscape lighting illuminates the yard for safely walking and shows off the plantings and water features at night time.
