This riverfront property required special consideration to meet regulations for flood plain, wetlands, and riparian areas. The home needed to be elevated and so one of our big tasks was to make a smooth and pleasurable transitions to the house.  With this in mind, large boulders and stone slab step were added to access the front elevation of the home, while a flagstone walkout patio at the rear of the home meets the elevated lawn area. The owners wanted to be respectful of the sensitive site so tall native grasses were used rather than a typical bluegrass lawn.  Many native trees, shrubs, and flowers add to the natural setting.  A custom sunken Barbeque patio with sink was added later.  A pond with flowing waters that is stocked with fish provides a fun and pleasurable spot to hang out.  Custom log light holders were designed to be consistent with the house.
